Are there any limitations on the software?
No. However, the smaller the proofing printer, the less expensive respectively.
I also have a Xerox printer, can i use that for proofing? are there any additional costs for that?
Yes you can and there are no extra costs for the driver or the installation.
How does AbsoluteLive Support work?
We use Skype, iChat, or LogMeIn to share the screen of the computer of the clients site. Interact with an instant messenger, and even talk as on the phone while doing so. This allows us to make sure the installation is done accurately, to ensure customer satisfaction, and customer interaction and training of AbsoluteProof Live.
Currently it is free to all subscribers to guarantee user satisfaction.
The experience is educational and will in most cases allow the user to gain valuable experience in the prepress environment for future use of AbsoluteProof Live.
What is the difference between Skype, iChat, and LogMeIn screen sharing support?
Skype allows phone calls, instant messenger, and screen sharing (but not control of the mouse & keyboard, so we would have to explain where to click while watching etc...)
iChat allows phone calls, instant messenger, and screen sharing with control. So we (Absolute Live Support) are able to interact with the computer, providing valuable training while allowing guided installiation of AbsoluteProof Live, and guided calibration, setting up AbsoluteProof to the customers needs.
LogMeIn allows screen sharing with control. Chat can be done by opening a txt document and typing in there, which is often enough. This option is most common, as it meets the requirements, is free, and is the most reliable.
How do i install Skype, iChat, or LogMeIn?
You just need to Download Skype and add us to your contact list. Add AbsoluteLiveSupport01
iChat should be pre-installed on all Mac computers, If you do not have a .Mac or a MobileMe account (required for screen sharing feature), you can register for a 60 day free trial here
LogMeIn needs to be installed. User name and passwords need to be set, then send them to us so we can log in to screen share. Our access to the computer can be enabled and disabled. Follow the instructions from the LogMeIn website
How many locations can I have print to remotely?
Unlimited.

Does it cost any extra to print to remote locations?
Because AbsoluteProof Live needs to be at both locations for this feature, normal subscription fees apply at every location. Free remote setup and training as required.
What operating system or platform computer does AbsoluteProof Run on?
AbsoluteProof Live runs on Mac OS X 10.4 and 10.5 (Tiger and Leopard) and Internet must be active.
How does the 60 day money back guarantee work?

If for any reason you are not satisfied with AbsoluteProof, we will refund the price of the goods provided that the Hardware Key is returned in original condition, within 60 days of the date of the invoice, a copy of which must be returned with the goods.
You will be responsible for the shipping and bank charges both to and from your address.

The software will expire, become nonfunctional, until it is remotely activated by the Absolute Live Support team using Screen Sharing.

Yes. If you would like us to profile additional press stocks, or help with additional guided calibrations using screen sharing, it will cost $300 + postal costs. Other then that, no.
What are the procedures taking place if we need a new press profile?
We will provide you with a profile target which you will need to output on the press when the press is running at optimum. Then send us 5 printed sheets to our location in the post. We will measure them and average the readings, build the press profile, then log in and install the new press profile in AbsoluteProof Live and notify you that the new press profile has been installed.
What are the procedures taking place if we need a calibrate a new proofing printer profile?
You would let us know, and we will log in and assist you. Upon your registration on our website you will also have gained access to our training videos which show you how to do the calibration with the AbsoluteProof Calibrator. Note: you will require a color measuring device when calibrating some proofing printers
What is a color measuring device? and where can i get one?
A color measuring device, known as a spectrophotometer, is a device that measures colors. The most affordable option will be the Eye-One available from X-Rite amongst other devices availabe from the X-Rite Website
